Waitlist Registration Information:

If you would like to register a child currently in Kindergarten to Grade 7 for one of our Before and After School Programs, you must first register on our waiting list.

Please submit your online application through this link: https://form.jotform.com/Spare_Time/ChildCareSociety-Waiting-List

You will receive confirmation once your application has been received.

Kindergarten Waitlist (September 2026 Intake):

Waitlist applications for children entering Kindergarten in September 2026 will open on November 3, 2025 at 9:00 a.m.

*Applications submitted before this time will not be accepted

**Applications are not first come first served

Children entering Kindergarten must first be registered in their catchment area school before being placed on our waitlist.

Once you have submitted your Vancouver School Board (VSB) registration application for your child’s catchment school, please proceed and apply online with the link above.

Priority Consideration:

Priority is given to:

• Siblings of children currently enrolled in one of our programs.

• Children who are currently attending or registered at one of the schools where we operate a program.

• Children registered in their catchment area school where we operate a program. You must be accepted into the school to be considered for space.

Vancouver School Board (VSB) Registration Timeline

Kindergarten registration for your catchment area school begins November 1^st, the year before your child is eligible to start Kindergarten.

Cross-boundary applications open February 1^st , seven months before your child begins Kindergarten.

If you have registered at your catchment area school and plan to apply cross-boundary (for example, due to moving or limited capacity at your current school), we will still accept your child on the waitlist.

Offer of new childcare spaces will take place in late April or early May of each year when we receive the school’s roster for the upcoming school year.

Registration Documents and Forms for all Centres

The following are important resources for our current families to have on hand and for new families wishing to enroll into our programs. Upon acceptance into our program, you are required to complete and submit the following forms.

In an effort to reduce our carbon footprint, we are encouraging families to submit these documents electronically. Please refer to our Spare Time Forms Guide for step-by-step instructions.

Upon acceptance into our Before and After School program:

• Review and save a copy of the Spare Time Parent Hand Book. It provides a comprehensive overview of our organization, programs offered, registration and fee policies, guidance and discipline policies, ratios and more.
• Complete the Spare Time Registration Documents , which include contact information, centre-parent agreement, photo/video consent and more.
• Complete the Immunization Information Form, and provide us with a copy of your child’s immunization record.  All childcare facilities in B.C. are required by law under the Community Care and Assisted Living Act to keep a record of each child’s immunization history.
• Complete the Anaphylaxis Care Plan Form and Asthma Care Plan Form along with the Request for Administration of Medication Form if your child has an Epi pen or a puffer.

 Acceptance into our Summer Program:

• Return the completed Summer Enrollment Package  (Current families and new families have specific dates after which they can apply) 
• Upon acceptance, if you are a family new to Spare Time, you will be asked for payment, and to complete and submit the Spare Time Registration Documents electronically
• Visit Summer Program to download your centre’s program calendar and for details specific to your centre
